On NSS Foundation Day the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Uttaranchal University and United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) organized a Blood Donation camp at Uttaranchal Hospital and Diagnostic Centre on 22 September 2023. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and encouraged students and staff to contribute towards saving lives. The blood donation camp organized with the collaboration of Subharti Hospital and Doon Hospital. The camp was supported by trained medical professionals and followed strict safety protocols to ensure the well-being of donors. Mrs Anuradha Joshi, Vice Chairperson, Sushila Devi Centre for Research & Studies inaugurated the camp. She appreciated the efforts of students of NSS & UNAI who volunteered to organized this blood donation drive. Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor also praised the members of NSS & UNAI who worked hard for the event. Prof (Dr) Satbir Singh Sehgal, Vice-President, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dean SALS complimented one and all for conducting the event for a noble cause. The campaign received an overwhelming response from the university community, with a significant number of students and staff actively participating and donating blood. The blood donation campaign conducted by UNAI and NSS in collaboration with the University not only helped address the shortage of blood supply but also fostered a sense of social responsibility among the participants. By actively participating in this noble cause, students and staff demonstrated their commitment to saving lives and making a positive impact on society. UNAI and NSS of Uttaranchal University extend their sincere appreciation to all the donors, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the success of the campaign. The event was coordinated by Prof VK Srivastava program coordinator of NSS Uttaranchal University & Prof (Dr) Bharti Ramola coordinator of UNAI Uttaranchal University along with Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma Coordinator of NSS, SALS. In the end all the members of NSS & UNAI asserted to continue to promote the spirit of blood donation and work towards building a healthier and more compassionate campus community.
