Law College Dehradun initiated a Launchpad for REAP 7.0, on 26 August 2023 under the aegis of the Moot Court Society, with an aim to develop the mooting, drafting, and research skills of the students. The first session for the training of Research Methodology was conducted by Dr. Vaibhav Uniyal, on 1st September 2023. It focused on the finer nuances of research, emphasizing the importance of research in addressing moot problems and providing invaluable guidance on how to integrate research into oral pleadings. The second session was taken up by Mr Shivansh Agrawal, a senior member of Moot Court Society, on Legal Database Research on 11 September 2023. He elucidated how to explore the myriad of research databases such as SCC Online, Manupatra, Lexis Nexis, etc.
A Mock Demonstration of court proceedings for the participants of REAP 2023 was scheduled on 21 September 2023 to give them insight into oral pleadings by Anushka Jha. The judge for the Mock Demonstration was Ms Aditi Bansal. Petitioners for the Mock Demonstration were Mr Priyansh Mittal and Ms Gargee Mishra, and the Respondents were Mr Kumar Amogh and Ms Ashwarya Bansal, the court master for the mock was Ms. Neha Rawat. The session was concluded with a Q&A session, that addressed the students’ doubts.
The Oral Pleading Rounds were conducted on the 26 and 27 of September so that the participants get an opportunity to understand the art of advocacy and its practical application. A total of 105 teams were registered and 60 submitted their memorials.
