School of Agriculture (SOA) organized an Experiential Leaning Programme on mushroom cultivation technology from 6th March to 29th April 2023 for the Undergraduate students of Agriculture. The program was aimed at skill development of student participants through their involvement in Mushroom cultivation. The subject expert Dr Sandeep Kumar, Assistant Professor, SOA demonstrated the students about the techniques involved in cultivation of edible mushrooms. The student participants actively engaged and develop skills in all steps of mushroom cultivation like processing and sterilization of wheat/paddy straw or other agriculture residue by physical and chemical methods, boiling of grains for spawn preparation, sterilization of soil used for casing, maintaining temperature and moisture inside the cultivation room, and techniques of the harvesting and post harvesting of fruiting bodies of the mushrooms.
