Law College Dehradun, faculty of Uttaranchal University organises a certificate course on Legal Aid and its Ecosystem in India (Legal Aid, Pro bono Lawyering and Alternative Dispute Resolution) for Nyaya Bandhu under the aegis of Pro Bono Club and Legal Aid Centre on 11 February 2023. Justice R. Basanth, Former Judge of Kerala High Court, was the chief guest and Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, presided as the special guest on the occasion. Justice R. Basant, the keynote speaker of the training program, explained the concept of Pro Bono Legal Services and how it is related to serving the downtrodden and destitute people of the society through advocacy. Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, explained various schemes of Government of India related to Nyaya Bandhu and Pro Bono Legal Services and the government’s plan to set up an arbitration center in every district of the country. More than 300 law students from various universities and colleges across the nation participated in this training programme.
