With the aim ofproviding a platform to the students for exhibiting their public speaking skills, Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organised a speech / extempore competition in multiple languages on the occasion of Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas celebrated to mark the Janam Jayanti of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati.
The event was held on December 09, 2022 at 3.00 p.m. in the UIM Seminar Hall. The themes of the competition included: ‘India as One Linguistic Area’, ‘Bharat ki Ekta aur Akhandata mein Bharatiya Bhashaon ka Yogdaan’, ‘Bhasha Jodne ka Saadhanya Todne Ka’, ‘Bharatiya Bhashayen for Unity and Harmony’. 12 students from different courses enthusiastically participated in the Speech competitiongiving speeches in Garhwali, Bengali along with Hindi and English languages. Around 45 students from the graduate and post-graduate programmes attended the competition. Falguni Biswas, student of BBA 2nd year was the Master of Ceremony for the event. The winners of the competition were Bharat Negi, Mantresh Raj, Prerna Yadav , and Falguni Biswas. The entire session was conducted by Dr. Shailesh Chamola, Assistant Professor, UIM and the Literary Committee members.
