Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, in coordination with Uttaranchal College of Nursing, organized a World Heart Day 2026 Guest Lecture and Awareness Programme on 29 September 2026 with the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat.” The programme aimed to create awareness among students regarding cardiovascular health, prevention of heart disease, modifiable risk factors, healthy lifestyle practices, early detection, and the importance of timely medical care.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Akash Samanta and Ms. Akanksha Sayana, Assistant Professor, UIPS, who were responsible for coordinating the programme and facilitating its smooth execution.
The event began with a welcome and introduction, followed by an expert lecture delivered by Dr. Neelesh Chandra Pandey, MBBS, MD (General Medicine) (Cardiology), the invited Guest Expert. The lecture provided students with practical insights into cardiovascular diseases, associated risk factors, prevention, healthy heart practices, and timely medical intervention. The session also included an interactive question-and-answer session to encourage student participation and interaction with the expert.
In the final session, a practical demonstration of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) familiarized students with the basic procedure and the importance of immediate response during a cardiac emergency.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members and promoted interdisciplinary learning between pharmacy and nursing. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, making the programme an informative and practical learning experience focused on cardiovascular health and emergency care.
