Dehradun, August 18. The Nasha Mukti Sapath Maha Abhiyaan was organized today at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium of Uttaranchal University. Trained expert Brahmakumaris from Dehradun, Ms. Deepshikha, Ms. Swati, and Ms. Muskan, were present as speakers. It is noteworthy that, in response to the call of the Government of India, the Brahmakumaris have pledged to launch a massive campaign to mobilize 180 million youth across the country to de-addiction. A meditation session was also organized on this occasion, which drew unprecedented interest from the students.
Brahmakumari Deepshikha began her presentation with Indian statistics on drug abuse. She stated that 2,500 to 3,000 people die every day in our country due to the ill effects of drugs, and the majority of those who die are young people under the age of 25. She described addiction as humanity's greatest enemy, whether it be drug addiction or digital addiction. They not only explained the ill effects of drug addiction but also explained numerous, experience-based, simple ways to quit.
Brahma Kumaris Muskan and Swati mesmerized the students with their digital presentation on drug de-addiction. The students present not only took the oath of de-addiction but also loudly pledged to create a Drug-Free India.
In his address, University Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna said that a Drug Addict is looked upon with great pity in society. Addiction affects not only the addict but the entire society. Because of these addicts, many have to become the sister, mother, or father of the addict. The family and institution of the addict are also looked down upon.
Prof. Vikas Jakhmola, General Secretary of the Anti-Drug Committee, said that a Drug-Free Campus Campaign has been running on campus since August 3rd. Under which, collectively and individually, students are being administered the oath of drug de-addiction through physical and digital medium and its huge positive effects are being seen.
