The students of B.Sc. Biotechnology Ist Semester, Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, visited the manufacturing facility of Daundi Biological Pvt. Ltd. located at Selaqui, Dehradun on 18 August 2026. The students were warmly welcomed by the company officials and received detailed technical guidance on the production and quality control processes.
The visit provided valuable practical exposure to the company’s manufacturing unit engaged in the conversion of raw materials into finished medicinal products, including solid oral dosage forms such as capsules, under controlled environmental conditions. In the production section, the students observed the functioning of key machinery including the blending machine and capsule filling machine. They noted that the entire production area is maintained at a temperature below 25°C, with strict hygiene and safety protocols being followed at every stage. Continuous in-process quality checks were also witnessed alongside the manufacturing activities. In the Quality Control laboratory, the students observed the testing of samples for various critical parameters. They watched the use of instruments such as pH testing equipment, weighing machines, quality testing machines, and Gas Chromatography for analysis. The importance of maintaining high quality standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines was explained in detail. The industrial visit offered significant real-world insights into pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, analytical instrumentation, and quality systems.
