Continuing the Deeksharambh Programme, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS) organized a series of engaging awareness and creative activities on 13 August 2026 as part of Anti-Ragging Awareness Week, aimed at sensitising students to the harmful effects of ragging and promoting a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive campus environment.

Students enthusiastically participated in Poster-Making, Slogan-Writing, Nukkad Natak, and Flash Mob, using creativity and teamwork to promote dignity, empathy, friendship, and mutual respect, while strengthening the message of a safe and ragging-free campus.

The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS, and Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS, whose presence and guidance reinforced the institution's commitment towards creating a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

The competitions were judged by Prof. (Dr.) Meera Sharma and Dr. Parminder Singh based on creativity, originality, content, presentation, and relevance to the theme. The Poster-Making Competition was won by Vedanshi Tyagi (BCA I-B), followed by Palak Rajput (BCA I-B) and Kunika Arora (BCA V-E). In the Slogan-Writing Competition, Vanshita Thapliyal (BCA I-D) secured first position, followed by Muhammad Haji Khamis (BCA III-C) and Harshit Jaguri (BCA I-A). 

The event was successfully organized by Ms. Upasana Rana, Head of the Anti-Ragging Cell, along with Ms. Dimple Chaudhary, Ms. Manisha Saini, Ms. Manisha Khanduja and Ms. Vaibhavi Kausik. Their dedicated efforts ensured the smooth execution of the activities.

The celebrations reinforced the university’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and encouraged students to promote respect, friendship, inclusion, and mutual support, contributing to a safe and ragging-free campus.
