As part of Deeksharambh 2026, an interactive lecture on “Agri-Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Technology and Startup Development” was organized by School of Agriculture (SOA) for newly admitted agriculture students on 19th August 2026 at the Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC), Uttaranchal University. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Singh, Director, Division of Research and Innovation (DRI), Uttaranchal University, addressed the students and emphasized the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset and discussed emerging opportunities in agricultural business, innovation, technology, and startups. He explained how agricultural problems can be transformed into viable business opportunities and quoted examples of students’ startups like BeeReady Harvester, Doon Apiary, Tree Kisan, Digital marketing, and online agricultural startups.
He highlighted the facilities and support provided by ACIC, including mentoring, technical guidance, infrastructure, networking, and fundraising, and discussed the startup ecosystem and support mechanisms available in Uttaranchal University. He also encouraged students to pursue research and innovation and explained research problem identification, methodology, results, discussion, and reference writing. He further discussed about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patent writing, and commercialization of research outcomes. Students actively participated in the interactive session and their queries were satisfactorily addressed.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Rajat Singh, Assistant Professor, SOA.
