The Anti-Drug Committee, School of Agriculture, conducted an awareness session on “Substance-Free Living: Building a Drug-Free Campus Together” on 19th August 2026. The session aimed to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and encourage students to make healthy and responsible choices.
The session was conducted by Dr. Neha Saini, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Anti-Drug Committee, SOA, who interacted with the students and discussed the harmful effects of substance abuse on physical and mental well-being, academic performance, relationships, and future prospects. Short awareness films and video clips were screened in each class, and through her PowerPoint presentation, she highlighted how drug addiction can gradually affect the life of a bright and promising student and, in severe cases, lead to serious health consequences and even death. She also emphasized the importance of avoiding peer pressure, making informed choices, and seeking timely support whenever required. The session encouraged students to understand their role in maintaining a safe, healthy, and drug-free campus environment.
Dr. Mansi Nautiyal and Dr. Abhishek Bhat, members of the Anti-Drug Committee, were also present during the session. Students actively participated in the session and engaged in discussions related to substance abuse and its prevention. The session concluded with a message encouraging students to say no to drugs, support their peers, and contribute towards building a substance-free and healthy campus community.
