The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, organized the Student Induction Programme – “Deeksharambh 2026” for the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) Programme on 17th August 2026. The programme was designed to facilitate a smooth transition of students into university life and familiarize them with the academic, professional, social, and cultural environment of the institution.
The program commenced with the inaugural session, which was graced by the distinguished dignitaries and an industrial expert. Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, delivered the welcome address and formally welcomed the students to the university. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Abhimanyu Prashar, Pharm.D., Ph.D., Head – Clinical Affairs, R&D (Nutraceuticals), India Glycols Limited, Dehradun, shared valuable insights into clinical pharmacy, pharmacovigilance, and scientific writing, highlighting their significance in the professional development of Pharm.D. graduates.
The students were subsequently introduced to the university’s academic framework, articulation matrix, Course Outcomes (COs), Programme Outcomes (POs), Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs), and Bloom’s Taxonomy by Dr. Yogita Tyagi, HoD, UIPS. A university familiarization visit was also organized to acquaint the newly admitted students with the campus facilities, infrastructure, and academic environment.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ankit Sharma, Pharm. D. Coordinator, UIPS, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their valuable participation.
Students were also taken on a guided tour of the university campus, including visits to the Drug Research Institute (DRI), Animal House, ERP Cell, Central Library, Corporate Resource Centre (CRC), Food Court, and other important facilities. The visit familiarized students with the university's academic infrastructure, research facilities, and student support services.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Yogita Ale and Mrs. Mansi Butola, Assistant Professors, UIPS, Uttaranchal University. Overall, Deeksharambh 2026 provided an engaging and informative platform for the newly admitted Pharm. D students.
