The Eco-Club of the School of Applied and Life Sciences, under the aegis of Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, celebrated World Elephant Day 2026 on 12th August 2026 with a Slogan Writing Competition on the theme “Safe Eco-Friendly Corridors, Safe Elephants”. The programme was organized in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry and aimed to raise awareness about the conservation of elephants, their ecological importance, and the urgent need to protect these majestic animals from habitat loss, human-elephant conflict, and poaching. Students of B.Sc. 1st  Year, B.Sc. 3rd  Year, and Eco-Club members actively participated in the slogan writing competition held in the School of Applied and Life Sciences. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pashupati Nath, Dr. Induja Mishra, and Dr. Shivani Rauthan. Participants from various disciplines, including Chemistry, Life Science, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, and other programmes, enthusiastically took part in the competition. The students created thoughtful and creative slogans highlighting the need to protect elephants, establish safe eco-friendly corridors, and preserve biodiversity. The competition successfully fostered awareness and a sense of responsibility among the young participants, reinforcing the importance of conserving elephants and their habitats for present and future generations. The celebration concluded with a collective pledge to support wildlife conservation and adopt sustainable practices for a greener and more harmonious planet.
