The School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University,
organized an Industrial Visit to Tirupati Industries (Tirupati Life
Sciences), Nahan Road, Paonta Sahib, to provide students with practical
exposure to nutraceutical manufacturing, processing, packaging, industrial
hygiene, and professional practices.
The visit was attended by 47 students from B.Sc. Food
Technology, M.Sc. Food Technology, and M.Sc. Food, Nutrition and Dietetics,
accompanied by Dr. Rattan Singh and Dr. Kajal Srivastava. The students
departed from Uttaranchal University at 9:45 AM and reached the industry at
approximately 11:00 AM.
Upon arrival, Mr. Arun briefed the students about the
organization, its operations, and products manufactured at the facility. Before
entering the production area, students were provided with essential safety and
hygiene equipment, including lab coats, hair covers, and shoe covers. This
highlighted the importance of hygiene, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP) in the nutraceutical industry.
During the plant tour, Mr. Satendra Singh explained the
processing and packaging of various nutraceutical products. Students gained
practical knowledge of different stages of nutraceutical processing and
observed packaging formats such as blister packs and strips. The visit helped
students connect their theoretical understanding of food technology, nutrition,
nutraceuticals, processing, and packaging with real-world industrial practices.
Following the plant visit, Mr. Abhinav, Head of HR, conducted
an interactive session on interview skills and professional development. He
guided students on effective communication, confidence, professional
presentation, and preparation for recruitment processes in multinational
companies.
The industrial visit was an enriching learning experience that strengthened students’ technical knowledge and understanding of industry requirements. It successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and practical applications while providing valuable insights into career opportunities in the food and nutraceutical sector.
