The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and highlight the importance of protecting and preserving nature by planting a sapling in honour and memory of their mothers, building a deep emotional connection with ecological conservation.
The program was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. D. Dr. Lakshmi Priya Vinjamuri, Chairperson of Vasundhara – The Green Society, alongside Chief Guests Mr. Laxmi Prasad Gairola, Van Beat Adhikari Forest Department Dehradun, and founder of the NGO Smriti Vikas sansthan Mr. Surender Singh . The event commenced with the felicitation of the Chief Guests, followed by a collaborative introduction detailing the shared environmental and social objectives of all participating bodies.
The core highlight of the event was the tree plantation ceremony, and the members actively participated across the designated site, ensuring proper planting techniques, structural execution, and immediate care for the newly set plants. The initiative emphasized long-term environmental responsibility, reinforcing that true conservation requires continuous nurturing so saplings can grow into healthy trees. Following the drive, an interactive interview session was conducted where Mr. Singh outlined the multi-faceted social work of Smriti Vikas Sansthan. Encouraging the youth to become job providers rather than job seekers, he commended the enthusiasm and remarked, "Jidhar Jawani Chalti Hai, Udhar Zamana Chalta Hai," emphasizing the transformative role of young citizens in driving positive societal change.
The event concluded on an inspiring note underscoring the vital impact of institutional collaborations between academia, government bodies, and social organizations in building a greener and more responsible future.
