The Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, successfully organized an engaging Alumni Talk on 30 July 2026 featuring distinguished alumnus Mr. Annu Kumar (BHM, Batch 2018–2022), who is currently serving as a Captain at the Italian Restaurant Tuscany at Grand Hyatt, Muscat.
The interactive session, titled "From Campus to the First Job: Struggles, Surprises, and Lessons Learned," provided students of USHHM with valuable insights into the realities of the hospitality industry. Drawing from his own professional journey, Mr Annu Kumar shared practical experiences, discussed the challenges of transitioning from campus to the workplace, and emphasized the importance of continuous learning, professionalism, communication skills, and perseverance in building a successful hospitality career.
The session inspired students to prepare confidently for their future careers while gaining a realistic perspective on industry expectations. The event was organized by Mr Vijay Pant, Coordinator, Alumni Cell, USHHM, and concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Prof (Dr) Manish Badoni, Director, USHHM, who appreciated the alumnus for motivating the next generation of hospitality professionals.
