Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organised the Faculty Orientation Program for Quality Enhancement–2026 for newly appointed faculty members. The programme aimed to familiarise participants with the institution's academic framework, governance, policies and responsibilities while promoting excellence in teaching, research, and professional development.
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, welcomed the new joinees and highlighted their vital role in strengthening the institution's commitment to academic excellence. He emphasised student-centric education, he advocated customised pedagogical approaches to address the diverse learning needs of students and encouraged continuous professional development, innovation, and inclusive teaching practices.
Prof. Dr. Tilottama Singh, Head of the Department, provided an overview of the department's academic and administrative framework, importance of teamwork, coordination and effective communication. Dr. Anil Singh Chauhan, Head of the Examination Committee, UIM explained the University's Examination and Evaluation Scheme, emphasising transparency and academic integrity in assessment practices.
Prof. (Dr.) Babita Rawat, Research Coordinator, UIM introduced faculty members to the university's research support system, funding opportunities and motivating them to actively engage in research and innovation. Dr. Sonakshi Bhatia, Head-Cultural and Academic Events, UIM briefed the faculty on the academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities conducted throughout the year and encouraged their active participation in student engagement initiatives. Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Assistant Professor, UIM highlighted the importance of continuous professional development, industry-oriented teaching, and the integration of digital tools and outcome-based education to enhance classroom effectiveness and student learning.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Prasenjeet Samanta, Assistant Professor (DIQAC), UIM, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries and faculty members for their valuable guidance and contributions. He appreciated the insightful sessions and wished the new joinee members success in their academic journey at Uttaranchal Institute of Management.
