As part of the University Grants Commission (UGC) initiative to promote value-based education and holistic development, Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences organized a Workshop on “MULYA PRAVAH 2.0- Inculcation of Human Values and Professional Ethics in Higher Education Institutions” on June 19, 2026, under the guidance of the Director, UCHS. The event commenced with an address by the Director, UCHS, who highlighted the importance of integrating ethical principles, compassion, empathy, and integrity into healthcare practice. He emphasized that healthcare professionals play a crucial role not only in providing treatment but also in upholding the dignity, rights, and well-being of patients.
Mr. Gopal, Assistant Professor, UCHS, delivered an insightful lecture on fundamental human values, ethical decision-making, patient-centred care, professional accountability, confidentiality, and respect for diversity in healthcare settings. Real-life examples and case discussions enabled participants to understand the practical application of ethical principles in clinical practice. Faculty members actively participated in the interactive session, sharing their perspectives on ethical challenges encountered in healthcare professions. The programme reinforced the significance of empathy, social responsibility, and ethical leadership in delivering quality healthcare services.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Nidhi Sharma, Assistant Professor, UCHS and a collective commitment to uphold human values and professional ethics, thereby contributing to a compassionate, inclusive, and ethically responsible healthcare system.
