university’s unwavering commitment to life-saving community service and its
exceptional public health initiatives.
The award was jointly
presented by the leaders of Uttarakhand's medical community: Prof. Ajay Arya
(Director of Medical Education, Uttarakhand), Dr. Ravindra Singh Bisht
(Additional Director) and Prof. (Dr.) Geeta Jain (Principal, GDMC)
Uttaranchal University’s
blood donation drive isn't just an annual event—it’s a 20-year legacy.
Every year on November 26th (Constitution Day), the Legal Aid Centre of Law
College Dehradun hosts a massive donation drive uniting major blood banks
across the capital.
Accepting the honour on
behalf of the university were Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna (Pro-Vice Chancellor
& Dean, Law College Dehradun) and Prof. V K Srivastava (NSS
Coordinator).
Speaking on the occasion
Prof Bahuguna stated that Uttaranchal University’s blood donation drive isn't
just an annual event—it’s a 20-year legacy. Every year on November 26th
(Constitution Day), the Legal Aid Centre of Law College Dehradun hosts a
massive donation drive uniting major blood banks across the capital. A
staggering, record-breaking 1,378 units of blood were donated in a single
day! On 26th November 2025.
Alongside this mega-event, the university's
National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda
& Research (UMCAR) host regular voluntary camps year-round.
