The School of Agriculture (SOA), Uttaranchal University, organized an educational tour to Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, on 4th May,2026 for the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, 6th Semester. The visit was planned to provide students with practical exposure to medicinal plants, agricultural processing, and industry-based learning.
During the tour, students visited different sections of Patanjali Yogpeeth and learned about the cultivation, identification, and utilization of medicinal plants. They also observed the processing of herbal products, quality control practices, and various stages involved in value addition of agricultural produce.
The visit gave students an opportunity to connect classroom learning with practical applications. They interacted with experts, observed processing facilities, and gained a better understanding of how agricultural raw materials are converted into value-added products. The educational tour also helped students understand the importance of medicinal plants, sustainable agricultural practices, and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. The tour was accompanied by Dr. Gaurav Jain, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, and Ms. Diksha Nautiyal, who guided the students throughout the visit
