The Women’s Cell of the Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT), Uttaranchal University, successfully organized an event titled “Voices of Equality: A Creative Showcase for Gender Equality and Inclusion” in the Seminar Hall of UIT on April 24, 2026.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Director Prof. (Dr.) Sumit Chaudhary and Head of the Department (CSE), Dr. Madhu Kirola, along with Women’s Cell faculty coordinators and student representatives. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across the institute. The main objective of the program was to provide a platform for students to express their thoughts and perspectives on gender equality and inclusion through creative forms of expression.

Participants showcased their talents through storytelling, poetry, and rap performances, addressing important themes such as gender justice, empowerment, challenges, and social inclusion. The performances reflected originality, creativity, and a strong understanding of the subject, making the event both engaging and thought-provoking.

The event was judged by Mr. Arpit Goel, Ms. Shreya Suman, and Ms. Ananya Kaushik, who evaluated the performances based on originality, relevance to the theme, clarity of expression, creativity, and overall presentation.

Bhanu Pratap Songara (B.Tech CSE, 2nd Year) was declared the winner, followed by Anjana Gupta (B.Tech CSE, 3rd Year) as the 1st runner-up and Deepika (B.Tech CSE, 2nd Year) as the 2nd runner-up. All participants were awarded certificates of participation.

The event also encouraged open dialogue and critical thinking among students, fostering awareness and sensitivity towards issues related to gender equality. The audience appreciated the efforts of the participants, making the session interactive and impactful.

Overall, the program proved to be a meaningful initiative by the Women’s Cell, promoting awareness, creativity, and inclusivity. It highlighted the commitment of the institution towards building a more equitable and supportive environment for all students.
