The event centered on the theme “Artificial Climate Control: A Necessary Scientific Breakthrough or a Dangerous Human Overreach” and aimed to encourage critical dialogue on contemporary environmental challenges while fostering student participation.

The session was effectively moderated by Ms. Aadika Jain and Mr. Badal Singh, executive members of Vasundhara. The program was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean, Law College Dehradun, and Pro Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, along with Prof. (Dr.) Lakshmi Priya Vinjamuri, Chairperson of the Society. The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished judges, Mr. Manoj Barthwal and Wg. Cdr. Neha Bisht (Retd.).

The discussion witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students presenting diverse perspectives on artificial climate control. Key issues such as Solar Radiation Management (SRM), cloud seeding, climate debt, and the ethical and geopolitical implications of such technologies were explored. While some participants highlighted the potential of scientific interventions in addressing climate change, others cautioned against human overreach and emphasized the need for global regulation.

The Earth Day celebration added significance to the event, reinforcing environmental awareness and responsibility. Mr. Badal Singh encouraged sustainable practices, including water conservation, reducing plastic use, and tree planting. Wg. Cdr. Neha Bisht (Retd.) spoke on the growing role of artificial intelligence in environmental management, while Mr. Manoj Barthwal motivated students to cultivate critical thinking and continuous learning.

The winners were announced as Tanya Godiyal (first), Aayush Bisht (second), and Devesh Koirala (third). The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Lakshmi Priya Vinjamuri, who expressed gratitude for the success of a thought-provoking and impactful program.
