The Department of Civil Engineering, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT), Uttaranchal University, achieved remarkable success at India Design Week (IDW) 2026 – North Grand Finale, a 24-hour national-level design challenge held on April 21–22, 2026, at Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida. The programme was facilitated by ICT Academy in collaboration with Autodesk and provided an excellent platform for experiential learning and exposure to industry-relevant digital design tools. The event witnessed participation from around 500 students representing more than 50 institutions across six states. Mr. Srikanth, Chief Executive Officer of the ICT Academy, emphasized that such initiatives strengthen structured student participation and promote experiential learning through effective industry–academia collaboration.
Two teams from the Department of Civil Engineering participated in the Autodesk Revit track. The team comprising Preet Choudhary and Rudraksh Sharma (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 3rd Year) secured first position and was awarded the championship trophy along with a cash prize of ₹50,000 for their outstanding performance. The second team, comprising Nitish Kumar (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 3rd Year) and Aastha (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 4th Year), also performed commendably and represented the university with distinction. The teams were mentored by Mr. Loknath Kumar Assistant Professor CE and Mr. Vinod Balmiki Assistant Professor CE, whose guidance played a vital role in this achievement.
The accomplishment reflects the department’s continuous efforts towards fostering innovation, technical excellence, and practical learning. It stands as a proud milestone for Uttaranchal University, inspiring students to actively participate in national-level competitions and enhance their professional competencies.
