The Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM), Uttaranchal University, organized a vibrant workshop titled “Blossom of Creativity” under the Hospitality Club on 21st April 2026. The event celebrated the art of floral design and offered students hands-on exposure to professional flower arrangement techniques.
The workshop commenced with an insightful presentation on the fundamentals of flower arrangement, highlighting its importance in hospitality aesthetics and guest experience. Faculty members Mr. Abhishek Negi and Mr. Nitish Kumar Bhardwaj, assistant professors, USHHM, demonstrated a wide range of flower arrangements, including all-around, Hogarth curve, crescent, horizontal line, front-face, and Japanese styles such as Ikebana, Morimono, Moribana, and Ukibana. They also showcased creative bouquet-making methods, blending tradition with modern artistry.
Students actively participated, learning not only the technical aspects of floral placement but also the principles of balance, harmony, and color coordination. The workshop emphasized how flower arrangements enhance ambiance in hotels, restaurants, and events, teaching students to integrate creativity with professional standards. Many expressed that the session improved their confidence in applying design concepts to real-world hospitality settings.
Concluding the event, Prof. (Dr.) Manish Badoni, Director of USHHM, praised the dedication of the faculty and the enthusiasm of the students. He emphasized that such workshops nurture innovation and practical skills, making students industry-ready.
