Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal University, organized a guest lecture on “Canada as a Study Destination & Insights into Dalhousie University” in collaboration with IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd. on 16 April 2026. The session was conducted with the objective of providing students with comprehensive knowledge about higher education opportunities in Canada, including academic programs, admission procedures, scholarships, visa processes, and career prospects. 


The event began with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Dev Sharma, Head of the Department, USCS, who encouraged students to actively participate and make the most of it. The session was delivered by Mr. Gaurav Chhabra, International Student Recruitment Manager (India, Bangladesh & Vietnam), who shared valuable insights into Dalhousie University, its academic excellence, campus life, and global reputation. He was accompanied by Mr. Ankur Gusain, representing Strategic Alliances at IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd., who guided students on various study abroad opportunities and application processes. 


The speakers highlighted the advantages of studying in Canada, emphasizing quality education, global exposure, practical learning approaches, and promising career opportunities. Detailed information about Dalhousie University’s courses, student support services, and international recognition was also shared, helping students make informed decisions about their future. 


The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from final- and pre-final-year students of USCS. Students actively engaged in the interaction, raising queries regarding admissions, scholarships, and post-study work opportunities. The lecture served as a valuable platform for students to explore international education pathways and gain clarity on pursuing higher studies abroad. 


The event was successfully conducted at the USCS Seminar Hall under the guidance of Ms. Manisha Khanduja and Ms. Divya Rawat.
