The School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University, organized a five-day workshop on "Monitoring of Zinc in Soils and Irrigation Water for Optimum Crop Growth and Yield” from 30th March to 3rd April 2026. The workshop was organized with the objective of enhancing knowledge and practical skills related to the estimation of zinc in soil and water samples using an Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS). The workshop was organized for the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Semester VIII. The event commenced with an Inaugural Address by Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Pandey, Director, School of Agriculture, who highlighted the importance of zinc in a living system & the significance of monitoring zinc levels in soil and irrigation water for sustainable agriculture and optimum crop productivity. The inaugural address was followed by a lecture by Dr. Atin Kumar, coordinator of a workshop on the topic Role of Zinc in Soil–Plant Systems: Dynamics, Analysis, and Management for Sustainable Crop Production.
