Educational Visit to Wildlife Institute of India

The Department of Forensic Science, School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University organized an educational visit to the Wildlife Institute of India on 29th April 2026 for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Forensic Science students. The visit began at 10:00 AM with 40 students under faculty supervision. The aim was to provide practical exposure to wildlife forensics and its role in wildlife crime investigation. Students were introduced to biodiversity, conservation practices, and forensic methods used in species identification and illegal wildlife trade cases. 


Experts demonstrated key techniques such as morphological examination and basic molecular approaches, along with relevant case studies to highlight real-world applications. An interactive session also provided insights into career opportunities in wildlife forensics and research. Overall, the visit was informative and beneficial, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
