The students of M.Sc. Zoology and B.Sc. CBZ from the School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS) undertook an educational visit to the Fisheries Centre, Dhakrani, Vikasnagar on 24 April 2026. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to fish culture practices, hatchery management, and water quality assessment techniques. Students observed different fish species, breeding units, and feeding methods; breeding techniques enhanced their understanding of aquaculture operations. The technical staff explained the significance of sustainable fisheries and modern fish farming techniques.
This visit has opened new avenues for students in terms of academic and professional growth. It provided them with valuable insights and field exposure that can be utilized for their dissertations and project work. The interaction with experts and hands-on experience at the fisheries center has also created opportunities for internships in the field of aquaculture and fisheries science.
