Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, organized a virtual international webinar on Public Speaking for Emerging Leaders Advancing SDG 4 – Fostering Sustainable Quality Education” on 12 March, 2026. The webinar aimed to create awareness about the importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in shaping future business and leadership practices.
Dr. Abir Soundous Ghaskil, Associate Professor in the Department of English and Literature at the Faculty of Letters and Foreign Languages, University of Batna 2, Algeria. She has 13 years of experience in higher education, during which she has taught various courses in Training, Public Speaking, Leadership Development, Life Coaching, language Didactics, linguistics, Oral and Written expression, as well as Research Methodology.
The session was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, who emphasized the need of sustainable development in present era.
Dr. Ghaskil highlighted that public speaking is a vital skill for emerging leaders in a rapidly changing world. It enables individuals to confidently express ideas, inspire others, and influence positive change. In relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), effective communication helps raise awareness about the importance of inclusive and equitable education and promotes lifelong learning. By using public speaking as a platform for advocacy, knowledge sharing, and community engagement, emerging leaders—especially students and young professionals—can motivate others to support educational initiatives and contribute to achieving United Nations SDG 4.
The webinar was organised by Mr. Devesh Chand, Assistant Professor, UIM. A vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Dr. Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM who appreciated Dr. Ghaskil’s insightful talk and encouraged students to integrate sustainability into their lives.
