The University Cultural and Event Committee (UCEC) organized UU Superstar 2026 on 27th February at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium. The event showcased diverse talents, including dance, singing, rap, and mono acts, reflecting the vibrant cultural spirit of the university. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation and remarkable performances from students across various departments. Ms. Nidhi, a member of UCEC, hosted the program along with the students of the cultural committee.
The event began with the traditional ceremonial lamp lighting by Chief Guest Mrs. Anuradha Joshi (Vice President, Sushila Devi Centre for Professional Studies & Research), Guest of Honour Shri Jitender Joshi (President, Uttaranchal University), Ms. Ankita Joshi (Vice President, Uttaranchal University), Prof. Dharam Buddhi (Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University), Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna (Pro-VC, Uttaranchal University), Dr. Abhishek Joshi (Director, SA & IT), Prof. (Dr.) Kartikey (Dean, Student Welfare), and the esteemed judges, Mrs. Ketki Kathpalia and Mrs. Minal Vashisht. The auspicious inauguration symbolized knowledge, positivity, and cultural harmony. The dignitaries were formally felicitated as a gesture of respect and appreciation.
The event was successfully conducted under the dedicated leadership of Dr. Reeta Rautela, Chairperson, UCEC. The performances were meticulously evaluated by judges based on creativity, stage presence, confidence, and overall impact.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. (Dr.) Kartikey, DSW, announced the much-awaited results. The prestigious title of UU SUPERSTAR 2026 was awarded to Bipasha from the School of Liberal Arts (SLA) for singing. Saurabh and group secured the first runner-up position for group dance, while the yoga group led by Mangal and group was declared second runner-up. The First Consolation Prize was awarded to Ritual and a group from SLA, and the Second Consolation Prize was won by Nancy from UCMAR.
The prize distribution included a trophy and a cash award of ₹15,000 for the winner, ₹10,000 for the first runner-up, and ₹5,000 for the second runner-up. The event concluded on a celebratory note, applauding the efforts of participants, organizers, and faculty members for making UU Superstar 2026 a grand success.
