Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT) proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement as Akshay Pilkhwal, a B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering student, has been recommended for commissioning into the Indian Army after successfully clearing the highly competitive Services Selection Board (SSB) examination.
Akshay appeared for the SSB interview at the 21 SSB Board, Selection Centre Central, Bhopal, from 25 February to 1 March 2026. He successfully completed the challenging selection process, which evaluates candidates on various parameters including leadership qualities, communication skills, decision-making ability, mental strength, teamwork, adaptability, and Officer-Like Qualities (OLQs).
Following his recommendation, Akshay will undergo 49 weeks of rigorous pre-commission training at the prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, where he will prepare to serve the nation as an officer in the Indian Army.
Akshay’s achievement reflects his dedication, discipline, perseverance, and strong commitment towards his goal of serving the country. Sharing his experience, Akshay stated that the SSB journey was a life-changing experience that strengthened his confidence, leadership skills, and sense of responsibility. He highlighted that the process helped him understand the importance of teamwork, continuous improvement, and adaptability—qualities that play a vital role in both military service and personal development.
