Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University celebrated Constitution Day on 26 November 2025, with Lt Gen Nagendra Singh, AVSM, YSM, SM, Commandant of the Indian Military Academy, as the chief guest. The event was organized by the Legal Aid Center, with enthusiastic participation from university students, including members of NCC and NSS. University President Mr. Jitendra Joshi honored the chief guest with a bouquet and presented him a memento.
The program began with the offering of a floral wreath at the University’s Shaurya Diwar. Following this, Lt Gen Nagendra Singh led a mass recitation of the Preamble of the Constitution of India with the students. In his address, he praised Uttaranchal University's Constitution Day celebrations, including the traditional events and the large blood donation drive, calling it an exemplary initiative. He stated that the founding fathers gave India a remarkable Constitution, which despite facing many challenges, continues to protect citizens' rights and guide governance. He added that while the armed forces serve as uniformed soldiers, the youth of the nation are unarmed soldiers tasked with advancing the country and society.
The program also featured addresses by the University’s Vice-President, Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dharam Buddhi, and Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajesh Bahuguna.
Students paid tribute to the founding fathers by donating blood, fulfilling a vital social responsibility and making Constitution Day 2025 truly memorable. A massive blood donation camp was organized where seven blood banks from the capital participated. Over 3,000 students, faculty, and staff registered to donate blood, resulting in a record 1,302 units collected in a single day—the highest ever for an institution’s blood donation drive.
