Globe Club, UIM Conducts Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign and Rally

 

Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, organised an Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign and rally on 26 November 2025 to promote awareness about the harmful consequences of drug abuse and to encourage students to adopt a healthy, responsible, and value-based lifestyle. The primary objective of the campaign was to strengthen preventive awareness among youth and inspire them to contribute to building a drug-free society. 

The event was organised under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, and Dr. Tilottama Singh, HoD Management, UIM. The campaign began with an introductory session addressing the rising concern of substance abuse and the important role of educational institutions in shaping youth behaviour. 

At the initial level of the program, students collectively took an Anti-Drug Oath, pledging to stay away from drugs and to spread awareness within their peer groups and communities. This oath-setting activity created a strong sense of commitment and responsibility among participants. 

Following the oath, students prepared awareness placards and posters conveying messages about the physical, psychological, and social dangers of drug use. A rally was then conducted across the campus and nearby localities, where students interacted with the community, raised slogans, and distributed informative leaflets to promote the message of a drug-free environment. The rally highlighted the importance of early awareness, informed decision-making, and collective efforts in preventing drug misuse. 

The campaign was coordinated by Student Coordinator Chirag Malhotra, ensuring smooth organization and enthusiastic involvement. 

The event was managed by the Globe Club team comprising Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Head, Globe Club, Ms. Sakshi Chamoli, and all dedicated team members.
