As part of the National Pharmacy Week (NPW) 2025 celebrations, the UIPS Department organized a Health Check-up Camp for school children under the national theme “Pharmacists as Advocates of Vaccination” on 14th November 2025. The event aimed to promote awareness about preventive healthcare, hygiene, nutrition, and the importance of immunization among children. The camp was conducted at Shemrock School, Kehri Gaon, Dehradun, in collaboration with Uttaranchal Hospital & Diagnostic Centre. The initiative reflected the social responsibility of pharmacists as health educators and promoters of community well-being. A basic health screening was carried out for the children, and awareness sessions on vaccination, preventive healthcare, hygiene practices, and healthy habits were conducted. Students from the primary classes of Shemrock School participated enthusiastically. Faculty members Mr. Akhilesh Nautiyal and Mr. Manoj Dalabehera, student volunteers from B. Pharma (UIPS), and medical professionals including Dr. Komal, Dr. Shivam, and other practitioners from Uttaranchal Hospital & Diagnostic Centre contributed to the camp’s success.

More than 80 students benefited from the initiative. The camp helped children understand the importance of hygiene, nutrition, and vaccination, while pharmacy students gained valuable experience in public health service and community engagement. The school administration appreciated the effort and expressed interest in continuing such collaborations for future health awareness programs. The Health Check-up Camp successfully achieved its objectives of community outreach, health education, and experiential learning for pharmacy students. It reinforced the NPW 2025 theme of “Pharmacists as Advocates of Vaccination” by highlighting the crucial role of pharmacists in preventive healthcare and public welfare.

The organizing committee extends sincere gratitude to Mrs. Swati Agarwal and Mrs. Manvi Agarwal, Associate Directors of Shemrock School, all faculty members, student volunteers, and healthcare professionals for their contributions. The event was successfully coordinated by Mrs. Shilpa Rana, Mr. Akhilesh Nautiyal, and Mr. Manoj Dalabehera.
