The Women’s Cell of the Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal University, organized an Awareness Session on “Menstrual Hygiene” on 20th November 2025 in the Seminar Hall, UIT. The session was conducted under the supervision of Women’s Cell faculty coordinators and student representatives, with active participation from female students of the institute. The purpose of the event was to educate students on the importance of menstrual hygiene, correct usage of tampons, essential precautions, and to dispel common myths and misconceptions surrounding internal menstrual products. The speakers discussed vital topics, including safe menstrual practices, understanding of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), and a comparison of various menstrual products such as pads, tampons, and menstrual cups. The session encouraged open conversation, enabling students to clarify doubts and overcome hesitation regarding menstrual health. Overall, the event proved highly beneficial in promoting awareness, enhancing confidence, and fostering a positive and supportive environment for discussions related to women’s well-being, reflecting the commitment of the Women’s Cell towards empowering female students and improving menstrual health awareness on campus.
