The School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, observed World Food Day on 16 October 2025 on the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future,” with active participation from students and faculty. The day was marked by a Model-Making Competition and a Fireless Dish-Making Competition that added colour and creativity to the celebration.
Students displayed models that beautifully combined the themes of food and science, reflecting their innovative ideas for a healthier and more sustainable future. In the fireless cooking event, participants presented a range of nutritious and appealing dishes prepared without using fire, promoting healthy eating habits.
The programme was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Pandey, Director, SOA, and Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Prasad, HOD, SOA, along with faculty members and students.
All the events were judged by Dr. Reeta Rautela from SLA, Dr. Shefali Singh from SALS, and Mr. Vijay Pant from USHHM. The judges appreciated the originality and effort shown by the participants.
