Seminar and Hands-on Workshop on “Getting Started with MongoDB"

On 16th October 2025, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, organized an insightful Seminar and Hands-on Workshop on “Getting Started with MongoDB” for the students of BCA, B.Sc. (IT), and MCA. The workshop aimed to acquaint students with the latest trends in modern database technologies and encourage them to explore NoSQL systems as powerful tools for real-world problem-solving, innovation, and scalable application development. The expert speaker of the session was Mr. Sourabh Bagrecha, Senior Developer Advocate at MongoDB, Bengaluru, Karnataka. 

 

The inauguration was graced with the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS; Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS; and Mr. Aditya Singh, Relationship Manager, ICT Academy. 

 

The session, led by expert Mr. Sourabh Bagrecha, Senior Developer Advocate MongoDB, Bengaluru, Karnataka, provided participants with a deep understanding of how MongoDB efficiently manages, stores, and retrieves data through its flexible, document-oriented structure—making it ideal for handling large-scale and unstructured data. 

 

During the session, Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of gaining practical knowledge alongside classroom learning. She highlighted that in today’s data-driven world, understanding technologies like MongoDB is essential for building scalable and efficient applications. 

 

Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Dev Sharma, this workshop is being coordinated by Ms. Manisha Saini and Ms. Manisha Khanduja, with the support of Mr. Sanjay Mishra, Mr. Nitin Sharma, Ms. Khushboo Singhal, and Mr. Aagman Kaparwan.
