Dehradun,
October 9. The Uttaranchal University campus was immersed in a unique
confluence of faith and entertainment today. Indian and foreign students were
seen in their traditional attire. Some students were seen dancing to the tunes
of Ram and others in Garba. The occasion was 'Diwali Fiesta 2025'. The entire
campus was specially decorated for the occasion, and a series of events were
organized throughout the day.
The celebration
began with the Ram Rath Yatra. The procession was led by University President
Jitendra Joshi, Vice President Ms. Ankita Joshi, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof.
Rajesh Bahuguna, Executive Director Dr. Abhishek Joshi, while all the Deans,
Directors, Principals, Academic and Non-Academic staff, and a large number of
students joined the procession. After circling the entire campus, the
procession reached the venue. Shri Ram, Lakshman, Sita, and Hanumanji were
seated on the stage, and a group Ram Aarti began. The Ramdhun presented on this
occasion captivated everyone. The Sita-Swayamvara was enacted during the
program, captivating the audience. The dialogue between Parshuram and Laxman
filled the entire pandal with enthusiasm.
Jaunsar Naati,
group Ramgeet, Rajasthani Ghoomar, Bollywood Mix, Punjabi Bhangra, and Gujarati
Garba were particular attractions. When groups of young people in traditional
attire came out to perform Garba, the entire pandal shook. At the end of the
program, a mass Dandiya competition was organized, in which hundreds of young
men and women came to the ground and enjoyed Dandiya for hours. Foreign
students, dressed in traditional Indian attire, amazed everyone by presenting
amazing Dandiya.
In his address,
the President of the University, Mr. Joshi, said that the youth made the day
memorable by presenting Ram Yatra, Ram Aarti and devotional songs. He said that
by taking inspiration from the life of Shri Ramchandra ji, we can make our
lives meaningful. He tried to make the occasion meaningful by donating Rs
1,25,000 to Akshay Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing free food
to poor children.
On this
occasion, mainly Prof. Shalini Vohra, Prof. Pradeep Suri, Prof. Sonal Sharma, Dr.
Amit Bhatt Prof. Ajay Singh, Prof. Sharad Pandey, Prof. Vikas Jakhmola and
Prof. Manish Badoni, Rita Rautela, Saurabh Rajvanshi along with a large number
of students were present.
