On the occasion of Uttarakhand Rajya Sthapna Divas, The Cultural Committee of UIT organized a Live Sketching Competition on October 28, 2025, in the Seminar Hall. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge, creativity, and cultural pride. This was followed by a motivational address by Mr. Nikhil Pandey, who emphasized the importance of art as a reflection of one’s cultural roots and personal expression. The Director of UIT Prof (Dr.) Sumit Chaudhary subsequently addressed the gathering, encouraging students to embrace creativity and cultural awareness as essential dimensions of holistic education.
In honor of Uttarakhand Rajya Sthapna Divas, The competition was themed “Uttarakhand Culture, Uttarakhand Traditions, and Uttarakhand Temples.” Participants skillfully portrayed the rich cultural tapestry, architectural beauty, and traditional values of Uttarakhand through their sketches. The event fostered a sense of regional pride and artistic appreciation among the students.
After a careful evaluation of the artwork, the following results were announced:
First Position – Bhumika Upreti
Second Position – Deepanshu Negi
Third Position – Ch. Swapna
Each participant was commended for creativity, precision, and their portrayal of Uttarakhand’s heritage. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Nandini Prajapati, Cultural Head of UIT expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, judges, and participants. The competition successfully commemorated Uttarakhand Rajye Sthapna Diwas by celebrating the state’s cultural identity and inspiring students to honor its traditions through artistic expression.
