On 8th October 2025, Zenith: The Literary Club of the School of Liberal Arts, Uttaranchal University, organised a Nukkad Natak (Street Play) on the theme “Spreading Awareness about the National Education Policy 2020.” The performance aimed to communicate the core principles and transformative vision of NEP 2020 in an engaging, accessible, and creative manner, aligning with the UGC’s emphasis on experiential and participatory learning. The aim of the natak was to raise awareness about the key features and reforms introduced under NEP 2020 and integrate co-curricular activities with the academic vision of holistic learning outlined in NEP 2020.
The Nukkad Natak was performed by members of Zenith: The Literary Club, who brought the ideas of educational transformation, inclusivity, and multidisciplinary learning to life through drama, dialogue, and performance. The play depicted the shift from rote learning to a more flexible, skill-oriented, and creative model of education as envisioned by NEP 2020.
Using humour, emotion, and thought-provoking storytelling, the students illustrated issues related to traditional learning systems and highlighted the benefits of the new policy — including vocational training, critical thinking, multilingual education, and research-driven learning. The initiative encouraged critical reflection on the future of education and showcased how creative expression can be a powerful medium for policy communication and social engagement.
By integrating art, performance, and pedagogy, Zenith: The Literary Club successfully embodied the holistic vision of NEP 2020. The Nukkad Natak served as a vibrant example of how literature and performing arts can foster awareness, dialogue, and transformation within the academic community. The event was duly coordinated by Dr. Deepak Bijalwan.
