The School of Liberal Arts organized a five-day educational tour to Lucknow, Varanasi, and Ayodhya from 2nd to 6th October 2025. The visit aimed to provide students with experiential learning opportunities by exploring cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and psychological institutions that connect theory with practice.
The journey began on 2nd October with the group arriving in the City of Nawabs, Lucknow. Students visited the magnificent Bara Imambara, an architectural marvel showcasing Mughal engineering and cultural richness. They also explored the Bhool Bhulaiya, admiring its intricate maze-like structure. In the evening, the group savored the famous Lucknowi cuisine, which reflected the city’s royal culinary heritage. The tour continued to Varanasi (Banaras), one of the world’s oldest living cities and a spiritual hub. A significant academic visit was organized to the Mental Hospital in Varanasi, where students interacted with healthcare professionals and gained practical insights into mental health care, rehabilitation processes, and institutional psychology in India. Later, the group visited the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple and experienced the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. The evening, illuminated with lamps and chants, offered a profound spiritual experience, connecting students with India’s rich philosophical and cultural traditions.
On 5th October, the students visited Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama. The highlight of the visit was the Shri Ram Mandir, where students witnessed the grandeur and divinity of the newly constructed temple. The visit fostered cultural awareness and appreciation for India’s ancient epics and values of faith, devotion, and unity.
The educational tour successfully provided a holistic learning experience by integrating academic exposure with cultural immersion. Students not only deepened their understanding of India’s intellectual and spiritual heritage but also gained meaningful insights into mental health practices and community well-being.
