Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, celebrated World Pharmacists' Day on September 25, 2025, with the theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacist.” The campus activities began with a Pharmacist’s Oath Ceremony, where students pledged to uphold professional and ethical responsibilities, followed by a rally within the university campus promoting the importance of pharmacists in society. 

The on-campus events and two community outreach programmes were organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, which was coordinated by Prof. Sumit Durgapal, Prof. Supriyo Saha, and Dr. Yogita Tyagi, HoD, UIPS. 

The outreach awareness programme on medicine safety, hygiene, and nutrition was conducted at Sangam Public School, Premnagar, Dehradun, coordinated by Mr. Akhilesh Nautiyal, Assistant Professor, UIPS, along with students and faculty. Interactive sessions were conducted on the topics of medicine safety, hygiene, and nutrition. In addition, the students performed a Nukkad Natak to spread awareness about the pharmacist’s role and healthy lifestyle practices, which the school administration highly appreciated. 

Another outreach awareness program on Drug De-Addiction was organized at Jeevan Rakshak, a drug de-addiction centre near FRI, Dehradun, coordinated by Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Ashish Singh Chauhan, Assistant Professors, UIPS, along with students. Informative talks on safe medicine use, lifestyle modifications, and the risks of substance abuse were conducted. A Drug De-Addiction Pledge was taken to motivate participants to stay away from drugs and remain committed to recovery. 

These combined efforts ensured that the celebration had a lasting impact on society and beyond, reinforcing the pharmacist’s role as a trusted healthcare professional and advocate for public health.
