Prakriti Club and NSS Cell of Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, organized a Cleanliness Drive-Shram Daan on 25th September 2025 at Dehradun Railway Station in collaboration with the Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti on the occasion of Swachata Pakhwada, encouraging citizens to adopt sustainable hygiene practices and keep public spaces clean.
Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Director of USCS, addressed everyone and extended her best wishes, motivating the participants to perform with enthusiasm and spread the message of cleanliness effectively.
Mr. Vinayak Sharma, President of Jai Youth Wing, graced the event with his presence and extended his support, encouraging the students to continue promoting social causes with the same enthusiasm. The railway authorities and staff supported the students in conducting the Nukkad Naatak and cleanliness drive, making the initiative impactful.
The students captivated the audience through a powerful Nukkad Naatak, spreading awareness about cleanliness by addressing pressing issues such as littering, improper waste disposal, and the need for proper waste segregation. Using catchy slogans, songs, and engaging performances, they inspired onlookers to adopt sustainable hygiene practices. To further reinforce their message, the students also took part in a cleanliness drive, actively cleaning the premises of the railway station and setting an example of responsible civic behaviour. Their efforts not only educated the public but also demonstrated the true spirit of community service.
