The Uttaranchal University Sports Committee, under the aegis of the Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM) and the School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), successfully organized the Intra-University Badminton and Table Tennis Competition on 12th and 13th September 2025. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Pandey, Chairman of the University Sports Committee; and Prof. (Dr.) Abhishek Joshi, Director, IT & Students’ Welfare.
The inauguration ceremony, conducted by the SALS Department, was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Abhishek Joshi. A welcome speech was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Director, SALS. The closing ceremony was hosted by UIM, where the program began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries by Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM. In his address, he emphasized that discipline in one aspect of life fosters discipline in every aspect, and he urged students to actively participate in sports as a medium of holistic development.
As a gesture of gratitude, referees Mr. Sumit Kumar, Mr. Sachin Rawat, and Mr. Shashank Uniyal were felicitated with mementos. This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony. In the Badminton (Male Category), SOA secured the runner-up position, while UIT claimed the winner’s title. Dharmesh (B.Tech) was awarded Best Player. In the Badminton (Female Category), UIT stood runner-up, UIM emerged winner, and Astha (BBA) was recognized as Best Player. In Table Tennis (Male Category), LCD was the runner-up, UIT clinched the trophy, and the Best Player award was presented to a B.Tech student. In the Table Tennis (Female Category), UIT stood runner-up, while SALS emerged victorious, with Jyotika Pargai (B.Sc. Biotech) honored as Best Player.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Pandey, who appreciated the collective efforts of participants, referees, and organizers in making the competition a grand success.
