Faculty members Dr. Gaurav Jain and Dr. Rachna Juyal, along with Mr. Rakesh Kathait, Lab Technician, NSS volunteers, and students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, Semester I, actively took part in the cleanliness drive. The campaign started at 11:30 am in Kolhupani and Kotra Santaur in Sahaspur Block, with participants cleaning roads, areas around houses, shops, societies, and the school. The Pradhan of the village joined the drive along with villagers and appreciated the efforts of everyone involved.
Children from the village schools also participated, which created excitement and encouraged young minds to become agents of change. On the final day, a pledge ceremony was held where villagers and university volunteers promised to keep their surroundings clean and take collective responsibility for hygiene. The campaign made a visible difference in the village environment and inspired a sense of ownership among residents. Through Swachhata Pakhwara, Uttaranchal University reinforced its commitment to social responsibility and nation-building, following Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and self-reliant India.
