The Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Faculty of Uttaranchal University, celebrated Programmers’ Day on 12 September 2025 with great enthusiasm through a series of engaging events designed to spark curiosity, promote learning, and celebrate the limitless potential of technology. The celebration witnessed the participation of over 300 students from various universities, including Uttaranchal University, Graphic Era Hill University, COER University, Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, and several other institutions.
The competition saw enthusiastic involvement. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS; and Dr. Sameer Dev Sharma, Head of Department, USCS. The highlight of the celebration was the Inter-University Tech Hackathon, “BYTE 2.0: Boost Your Tech Excellence”, along with the “Web Crafters” competition.
In the Web Crafters event, Adarsh Naithani and Aryan Singh Negi were declared winners, while Surjit Kumar and Himanshu were runners-up. In BYTE 2.0, Deepak Kumar and Vansh Gambhir emerged as winners, Vinay Joshi and Mohit Chauhan secured second place, and Arman Ali with Bhumika achieved third place.
The event was organized by Dr. Swati Singh and Mr. Ashish Bhatt, with the support of Ms. Rashmi Kukshal, Ms. Divya Rawat, Ms. Upasana Rana, Mr. Deepak Bhatt, and Mr. Manish Negi. It was further enriched by insightful addresses from the dignitaries, who inspired participants to explore emerging trends, share innovative ideas, and build meaningful connections. They highlighted that the event offered diverse activities suitable for all levels of expertise, and recognized outstanding contributions through the presentation of certificates, trophies, and cash prizes.
Under the guidance of Dr. Sameer Dev Sharma, the event was smoothly coordinated by Ms. Manisha Saini, Ms. Manisha Khanduja, and the entire USCS faculty.
