The Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM) marked World Tourism Day 2025 on 26th September 2025 with a dynamic celebration that united students from various schools. The event highlighted a vibrant chef competition, a challenging quiz, and a cultural programme, all designed to showcase the skills and knowledge of young participants while fostering greater awareness of the significance of tourism.

The chef competition, themed "Discover Local Delight," gave aspiring chefs the opportunity to showcase their culinary expertise by presenting dishes that emphasized the use of local ingredients and a connection to traditional roots. The distinguished panel of judges, including the President of Uttaranchal University, Mr. Jitendra Joshi; Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice President; Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Budhi, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Executive Director, Student Welfare and IT Sector; and Prof. (Dr.) Manish Badoni, Director, USHHM, commended the participants for their creativity and flavour profiles. The winners, as well as other participants, impressed the judges with their innovative dishes that highlighted the importance of local ingredients, mindful cooking methods, and creative fusion styles.

Simultaneously, the quiz competition challenged participants' knowledge of global tourism trends, sustainable practices, and cultural heritage. In a spirited atmosphere, teams competed fiercely, answering questions that covered everything from historical landmarks to festivals, fairs, and tourist attractions in India. The quiz champions, demonstrating exceptional expertise and teamwork, were awarded certificates.

Prof. (Dr.) Manish Badoni, Director, USHHM, while encouraging the students, said, “We are proud to host such engaging activities that inspire our students and the community.” Participants and attendees enjoyed a day filled with harmony, creativity, and knowledge sharing, reflecting the essence of World Tourism Day.
