Law College Dehradun organized a workshop on Anti-Drug Awareness on 1 September 2025, aimed at sensitizing students about the dangers of drug abuse and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The event was led by Prof. Radhey Shyam Jha, Head of Law College Dehradun.
The workshop commenced with a welcome address by the coordinator, who highlighted the growing concern of substance abuse among youth and emphasized the urgent need for awareness, guidance, and preventive measures. Prof. Jha then delivered an insightful keynote speech explaining the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug addiction. He elaborated on how drug dependency develops, the signs of abuse, strategies for prevention, and the importance of seeking timely help.
To make the session engaging and impactful, the program included case studies, short films, and real-life testimonies from individuals who had recovered from addiction. These elements left a strong impression on the audience and encouraged active participation and reflection among students.
The event concluded with an oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to stay away from drugs and to spread awareness among their peers. In his concluding remarks, Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean of Law College Dehradun, appreciated the efforts of the organizers and participants. He stressed that such initiatives must continue to foster a safe and healthy campus environment.
