In today’s digital world, where every click, connection, and piece of data holds immense value, staying secure is no longer a choice—it is a necessity. Recognising this, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, organised an Expert Talk on Cybersecurity on 20 August 2025, exclusively for BCA (Cyber Security Specialisation) students. The expert for the event was Mr Pradipto Chakrabarty, Regional Director (South Asia) – CompTIA. The objective of the session was to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to understand evolving cyber threats and prepare them to safeguard digital assets with confidence.
The event commenced with the felicitation of the esteemed guest by Prof. (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS, who emphasised that cybersecurity is not a one-time fix but an ongoing process that demands vigilance, collaboration, and innovation.
Mr Pradipto Chakrabarty, a distinguished cybersecurity expert, shared valuable insights on emerging threats, ethical hacking, and strategies to counter cyberattacks. He highlighted the importance of proactive defence, digital awareness, and continuous upskilling in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. His words encouraged students to strengthen their knowledge and inspired them to contribute meaningfully to the field of cybersecurity.
The success of the event was greatly supported by the able coordination of Mr Sanjay Mishra and Mr Nitin Sharma with the support of student volunteers. Their teamwork and commitment, under the valuable guidance of Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS, ensured the event was conducted seamlessly and achieved its objectives.
