The Prakriti Club of Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal University organized an amazing Tree Plantation Drive on 20 August 2025 in collaboration with Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti at Shri Nityanand Swami Smriti Van, Rajawala, Telpur. This event wasn't just about planting trees; it was about teaching our students the importance of environmental sustainability and social responsibility. With the support of Shri Vinayak, President of the Jai Youth Wing, we planted over 50 saplings. The plantation included Aamla, Tamarind, Mulberry, Chinaberry, and several medicinal plants – a diverse mix chosen to enrich the sanctuary’s ecosystem and promote biodiversity.
The success of this Tree Plantation Drive was made possible with the constant encouragement and guidance of Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS. Her support motivated the students to participate with great enthusiasm, and we now look forward to our next green initiative with renewed zeal.
This Tree Plantation Drive was efficiently coordinated by Ms Manisha Khanduja, Head Prakriti Club and Ms Manisha Saini with the dedicated support of our enthusiastic student volunteers, whose efforts played a vital role in making the event a grand success.
